16th May 2025: Kia Ireland have today announced that they will partner with the Rás Tailteann cycling race that will be taking place across Ireland from May 21st to May 25th. Now in its 70th edition , the Rás Tailteann is an annual, multi-day international cycling stage race that draws teams and riders and from all over the world. The race is named after the Tailteann Games, an ancient Gaelic festival held in County Meath.
This year, the first stage will commence in Drogheda, Co Louth on Wednesday, May 21st heading westwards to finish in Boyle, Co Roscommon. Stage two will be a mountainous stage running from Charlestown, Co. Mayo over the Windy Gap and Maumtrasna climbs into Clifden, Co. Galway. Stage three will commence in Cong, Co. Mayo running along the Wild Atlantic Way finishing in Miltown Malbay Co. Clare. The penultimate stage four runs from Ennis, Co. Clare to Mountrath, Co. Laois with the final stage running from Kildare Town to Bective, Co. Meath where the winner will be crowned. This five stage event will cover over 760km including 13 categorised climbs.
As part of this sponsorship, Kia Ireland will be providing two Kia Sorento SUVs to race organisers with one vehicle being used as the race director vehicle that will lead each stage. In addition, Kia will be the official sponsor of the rider numbers worn by each competitor.
